DESCRIPTION:Community Spring Clean/Day of Service\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLWNA is proud to announce our first annual “Spring Clean” and “Day of Service”\nLWNA knows that we all have busy schedules and don’t always have time to stay up with cleaning around our house and property. This year we are trying to encourage our community to invest 1day cleaning up their house and specifically sidewalks and public spaces that we all use for safe access around the neighborhood. We are going to try something a little different this year. We are going to be encouraging our neighborhood to do some “Spring Cleaning”. We want our community members around the Lakehurst Neighborhood to help clean up the area around their houses. Specifically we are looking to improve safe access to/from Lakehurst Park. This means anything you can do to make sure our sidewalks are clear and safe for the summer access season (weeds removed\, tree limbs trimmed\, overgrown bushes cut back\, etc..). Doing little things like this can improve access and safety for our community and makes a big difference for many members of our community\, especially those with mobility challenges.  If you want to help out others\, we encourage you to come down to Lakehurst Park and/or help out our neighbors who could use some additional assistance. DESCRIPTION:LWNA will be hosting a National Night Out (NNO) event to help build a police and community partnership with our local Jefferson County Sheriff’s. The event will be at the Surrey Playground in Lakehurst Park. There will be a crime prevention deputy and possibly a fire truck from West Metro. LWNA will provide snacks and water. The goal of this event is to encourage the police/community partnership and support community based policing. Please bring your kids and family and join us for this great event! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUPDATE: \n\n\n\nThe National Night Out (NNO) was a huge success. We had around 30-40 people show up and 20+ kids. We were visited by the Jeffco Sheriff’s department. They were glad to help give us some advice about keeping our neighborhood safe. The main point was that “if you see something\, say something”\, even if possibly insignificant\, please feel free to reach out. They would much rather show up\, and that their goal is not to arrest\, but rather help and educate people\, in order to solve problems to help keep our community a great place to live for everyone. We are looking forward to make this event a staple of our community\, to help us build a strong relationship and promote community policing and safety for our neighborhood.

DESCRIPTION:Attention neighbors and friends\, the pick up soccer game is going to be starting up in the park again. We will be meeting in the park between 6:00 and 6:30 on Thursday’s to learn some skills and play some soccer. If you want to join us\, we will be at the shade structure by in the main park. Bring a ball and some water\, we will take care of the rest. All ages welcome! This is an informal gathering so participation will be variable\, but it is about getting out and kicking the soccer ball. Soccer will continue until the start of school in the fall. Kids practice/game starts at 6:30 and the adult game starts at 7:30. We will be meeting in the park between 6:00 and 6:30 on Thursday’s to learn some skills and play some soccer. If you want to join us\, we will be at the shade structure by in the main park. Bring a ball and some water\, we will take care of the rest. All ages welcome! This is an informal gathering so participation will be variable\, but it is about getting out and kicking the soccer ball. DESCRIPTION:Come hang out for the best Easter egg hunt in the metro area. We will have TONS of eggs for the kids to find. The hunt will take place at Peiffer Elementary School Garden. We look forward to seeing you there! \n\n\nUPDATE: \n\n\n\nThe Easter egg hunt 2022 was a HUGE success. We had our largest turn out to date. There was hundreds of kids\, and we went through almost 1\,000 eggs. This was great\, but because of the record turnout\, it limited how many eggs were available for each kid. Next year we will be increasing the number of eggs and candy for the event. It was great to see all the kids having fun and enjoying our great community event. Special thanks to the Peiffer PTA for helping us to put on this great event! \n\n\n\nNext Year we are going to need some more help for sure\, We will have a signup on the website!
