Lakehurst announces its new preferred trash and recycling hauler!

 

     After several months of exhaustively researching six different trash and recycling services, we are pleased to announce that we have selected Eagle Waste & Recycling as our preferred provider.  This locally owned company has offered very competitive pricing for all Lakehurst homeowners (a savings of $5/mo over standard prices), provides free single-stream (EASY!) recycling, has excellent references and BBB ratings, and is genuinely interested in being a partner to our community.  You are not required to change to this service! You can use any service you want.

Here are the details:

  • Trash AND recycling for $14/month; billing is quarterly.
  • A fuel/environmental fee will vary based on diesel prices; it is currently sitting at 10% ($1.40/mo) and has historically ranged from 5-18% in the past 3 years.
  • 96g trash totters are required; can either use an existing totter (and they will provide you with a sticker) or you can have a new one delivered/maintained for one-time fee of $25.  This fee will be WAIVED for members of the HOA. Trash service is weekly and pickup is on Fridays
  • Limit is the contents of the 96g cart plus 5 bags (or plus 2 cans); there is a charge of $2/bag beyond that, although if this is not abused many drivers just pick it up anyway.
  • You can use existing recycling bins or regular trash cans for recycling (they will provide Eagle stickers) or you can purchase recycle bins/cans from Eagle.
  • Recycling is every other Friday and is single stream (ALL recyclable items including plastics 1-7, paper, paperboard, aluminum, glass, and cut-up corrugated cardboard can be thrown in the SAME bin)
  • Customers who prefer to pay annually will receive one month of free service.
  • 10% discount on rolloff services

Next steps:

  1. Call your current provider and make sure you will be reimbursed on a pro-rated basis if you cancel your service. If not, you'll want to wait until the end of your billing quarter.
  2. Call Eagle at 303-761-8387 or go online atwww.eaglewasteservices.com (go to residential page and click "order now").
  3. Tell them you live in Lakehurst. If online, "Lakehurst" is the promotional code to use.
  4. They should ask you if you are a member of the HOA. If you are a dues-paying member, say so, and they will deliver a 96g totter for free ($25 savings!). If you aren't a dues-paying member but want to be (we hope!), you can send a check for $30 made out to Lakehurst West HOA to PO Box 271032, Littleton, CO 80127.
  5. Request recycling bins and/or stickers as needed.

NOTE:  They need at least 24 hours prior to delivery day (Friday) to set up service
